Doobie is the nickname of me, Racquel, known to close family and friends. My mother gave me the nickname when I was an infant and it stuck like glue due in part because I liked watching the cartoon, Scooby-Dooby Doo. A name that I've been trying to avoid for the most part of my life, my father says to me one day, "why don't you call your cake business, Doobie?" I thought it was the dumbest idea he ever had and was wondering if he was smoking "something". But it - stuck.

My professional life

I have a diploma in cake decorating. I also have a university degree in business and my career spans in the industries of hospitiality, food service and retail between Jamaica and Canada. I have been baking in general for most of my life and baking rum cakes for the past 14 years.

When I'm not making a creative mess in the kitchen, some how I still find myself in the kitchen.

I love my life, my family and what I do. And I honestly believe that without passion, you can't succeed.
